Cue the Christmas Campaign!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

This is the season that there is massive shopping around the world, and in our own local landscape. We as entrepreneurs need to know how to strategise and provide the best products and services to our clients at this special time of the year. This season is all about giving, and we want to give you some tips and guidance on how to create a campaign for your brand to have a successful Christmas season!

*Research:

You should take an account of what your customers are looking for and need during this time of year. This will be able to help you gauge your current supply, available packages and strategies used to market your brand. You can conduct a field study and analyse if your customers want gift packages, promotions and discounts, or even increased accessibility.

What can you do to improve your service and productivity?

Would new products be applicable for your business, or would deliveries be more suitable?

On the other hand, be aware of your numbers!

The number of persons supporting your brand, the number of clients, the number of sales, the number of followers and signups; this will help you to understand if more marketing and promotion are needed. Conduct market research in order to learn what is best for your brand and your customers, their expectations and your goals will be better served doing this.

*Budget:

After you investigate what is needed in your industry/ niche/ business, plan how you are going to allocate your resources and financial capital. Create a spreadsheet to assist you on what is needed within the business and its allowance. Are you spending more on your products, on the branding, or on promotion?

Apart from budgeting of funds, you need to be able to budget your time to different facets of your brand, this is to ensure that there is equity in each function of your business during this season. You do not want to spend too much time on marketing and social media planning, and not enough time on the development and production of your product or service. Know what is required of your time and energy.

When you budget your funds and time, you will have a clearer view of what to do during the Christmas season, be it to provide a new product, or revamp your social media branding or upgrade packaging.

*Promotion

On the topic of promotion, you want to ensure that your products are easily accessible and advertised well. How are you reaching your customers? Is it through social media ads, posters, ambassadors and/or word of mouth? This is the season to let everyone know what you are offering, and why your product is perfect for their loved ones. What makes you stand out from the rest?

Apart from promotion in terms of marketing and awareness, one should also be mindful of promotion with regards to incentives. Promotions may include discounts and giveaways, to attract clients to your business. Since it is the season of giving and love, show your appreciation to your clients by offering special offers, which would also encourage further promotion and marketing of your business.

*Execution

We have focused upon the planning of your Christmas campaign, and now is the time to execute it into motion. When you display your brand, ensure that you provide as much information as you can to the customer. This will build your transparency as a brand. With regards to your products and service, provide details of the nature of the product, its unique qualities, the price, how long it will take to be produced, delivery time (and its fee, if applicable), pickup dates and time, and much more.

Be clear!

There are different ways in which these details of production can be informed, it can be stated in photos, videos, in the description, pictorials, BTS and many other creative ways. Select which type of content works for your brand and audience.

Now you have the tools to step forward and campaign for the Christmas season! When is the best time to start your endeavour? The ideal time to start research and building your plan is 2-3 months in advance to prepare for the Christmas season. This will allow adequate time to analyse, observe and create a timeline of performance. After that, you can release your Christmas promotions, and products in the middle of November to provide the customers an opportunity to view your products and ponder until they are ready to buy. If it’s a restock or reintroduction less time is quite fine as well.

Now go out there, have fun, be engaging and offer the gift of your awesome brands!

Happy campaigning!
